Northwest Nazarene University granted NCHS three additional Concurrent Credit courses to its curricular offerings for the 2011-2012 academic year: Human Biology & Lab; Introduction to Public Speaking; and Missio Dei/Bible. NCHS continues to offer NNU Concurrent Credit for Spanish 3, Spanish 4, Chemistry & Chem Lab courses.
The expanding partnership between NNU and NCHS demonstrates the pursuit of excellence as both institutions seek to equip this generation for service in today's world. The Concurrent Credit program is fully accredited by the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).
NCHS students are able to earn college credit while still enrolled in high school and can graduate from high school with both a high school diploma and a college transcript. One recent high school graduate commented, "Now, whatever college I choose, I've already got a few credits under my belt. I can relax and take my college courses at a pace I can manage." Some students desire to complete general education courses in high school through the Concurrent Credit program so they have more time to pursue their college major and other interests.
Qualified NCHS juniors and seniors can take Concurrent Credit courses. Special permission from the high school instructor, NCHS administration and NNU is required for students who are not at least of junior status.
